About Us

Our Story

The Oxford Community Garden first took root in 2009. Oxford resident Susie Adams was inspired by other community gardens and decided to embark on creating Oxford's own. She worked with city leaders to find the site for the garden, off Bramlett Boulevard next to the Community Pavilion, and in April 2009, Adams and other community members planted the first seeds of the garden.

Through the help of numerous members, plot holders, and volunteers, the garden has grown to approximately 50 plots ranging from 4 x 8 (small) to 10 x 16 (medium) to 16 x 16 (large). Community members have worked hard over the last decade to make our garden a place of beauty, a source for locally-grown fresh food, and a spot for community-building.
